Article Processing Charges

Asia Pacific Journal of Mathematics is a fully open access journal. The journal does not charge readers or their institutions for access, and it receives no subscription income. Publication is financed by an article processing charge (APC), which is paid by the author, the author’s institution or the author’s funder once a manuscript has been accepted.

Charges

  1. The APC for this journal is $655 for all article types, including original research articles, review articles, and brief notes.
  2. Authors from low income countries are eligible for a discounted APC of $550.
  3. Authors who are members of the editorial board of this journal receive a waiver of the APC for one article per year.
  4. Invited papers are not subject to the APC.
  5. If the author is a member of the sponsoring society of this journal, they are eligible for a discounted APC of $550.

What the charge covers

The APC covers the cost of manuscript processing, formatting, editing, online hosting and archiving. It also covers registration of a Crossref DOI for the article and deposit of the published version with the National Library of New Zealand (Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa).

When the charge falls due

No fee is charged when a manuscript is submitted. Payment of the APC is due upon acceptance of the manuscript. No charge of any kind is made in respect of a manuscript that is rejected or that is withdrawn by the authors before acceptance.

Charges and editorial decisions

The decision to accept or to reject a manuscript is taken by the handling Editor on scientific grounds alone, on the basis of the reviewers’ reports. Editors and reviewers are not informed whether an author is liable for the full charge, is eligible for a reduction or has requested a waiver, and the ability of an author to pay has no bearing whatever on the editorial decision.

Other charges

Asia Pacific Journal of Mathematics makes no other charge to authors. There is no submission fee, no page charge, no charge for colour figures and no charge for supplementary material.
